AVID Behavioral Day Program develops individualized treatment plans with a single goal in mind: to increase consumer's independence. Services are provided across various settings such as day program, workplace, and community, so adults with disabilities can gain the social, vocational, and functional skills they need to lead the most self-sufficient lifestyle as possible. Some examples of individualized goals are: extinguish challenging behaviors, teach new skills, maximize independence across all areas of daily life.
AVID Behavioral Day Program implements a positive behavioral management program and functional skills training curriculum based on consumer's needs and service plan. Applied Behavioral Analysis approach will be used for behavior management to promote learning, generalization and maintenance.
These services are provided to individuals whose target goal is to develop vocational skills. Vocational development training provides assistance and guidance to gain specific knowledge and skills required to perform a job. Vocational training may include job search, job placement, job coaching and assisting the individual on the job site to help assure successful employment.
To access community resources and community integration is a vital part of each individual’s development and a part of life. AVID Behavioral Day Program promotes lifelong access to information, programs and services for individuals of all abilities. AVID assist individuals to reach a maximum level of independence and integration into their communities through pre-vocational training, vocational training, and social/recreational activities.
AVID encourages consumers to learn their rights and to speak up for themselves. Self advocacy means having a voice of their own and making their own choices. Self advocacy is taught and encouraged throughout the day and emphasize as part of their programming. For example, consumers are encourage to ddvocate for where they want to live, where they want to attend day program, what they want to eat, and choose their daily snacks, and which activities they want to engage in.
Mobility training is meant to aid individuals in developing the confidence necessary to travel independently. Mobility training promotes learning, growth, and independence. During the mobility training, individuals will be taught the following:

AVID Behavioral Day Program promotes ILS through out the day. Independent living skill curriculum is designed to help develop abilities and increase self-reliance and self-confidence. Independent living skill development is based on individual goals and capabilities. We offer a variety of options to optimize every individual’s personal development.
